The big news is extra value. Across the range the value proposition of every Toyota Hilux has been improved by between $1.960 to $8,340 – that’s up to 15.8 per cent - and there are seven new variants.

Many models have decreased in price – for example the Toyota HiLux 4WD SR5 turbo-diesel Xtra Cab gains satellite navigation, auto headlights, remote steering wheel telephone controls, new alloy wheels, sports front seats, auto air-conditioning, side airbags and curtain-shield airbags (around $2,690 worth of extra kit), but the price has been reduced by $5,650 to $46,990. The entry-point Toyota HiLux WorkMate now starts at $18,490 (just $500 more).

Month-on-month Toyota HiLux is one of Australia’s best-selling vehicles and in some states is actually the number one seller. The revised range is now 32 variants – 17 2WDs and 18 4WDs.

The new Toyota HiLux range comprises three cabins – Single, Xtra and Double Cab - two rear-ends – pick-up and cab-chassis – and three grades – WorkMate, SR and SR5. For powerplants you can choose 3.0-litre, four-cylinder turbo-diesel, 4.0-litre V6 petrol or 2.7-litre, four-cylinder petrol.

And of course you must decide between manual or automatic transmission, two-wheel-drive (2WD) or four--wheel-drive (4WD)

Amongst the changes, anti-lock brakes and a tachometer have become standard fit, while SR and SR5 models plus 4WD WorkMate automatics gain cruise control. Toyota HiLux 4WD SR5 double cabs score vehicle stability control (optional on SR double cab pickups). As well, 4WD SR5 double cabs add vehicle stability control (optional on SR double cab pickups), side seat and curtain-shield airbags and sports seats have been added to 4WD SR5 and SR models and all 4WD WorMate models get a limited-slip differential.

And big changes on the inside, headlined by SR5 models which gain standard satellite navigation with a 6.1-inch touch screen . All models get new/upgraded audio systems.
