The advanced safety of Subaru’s new ‘Eyesight’ system has been recognized by Allianz Insurance with a 20 per-cent reduction in comprehensive insurance premiums.
Subaru currently offers the ‘Eyesight’ system in Premium model grade Outback 3.6R and Liberty 3.5R
Subaru Eyesight is driven by tiny stereo cameras located near the internal rear-view mirror which recognize potential hazards, and alert the driver as well as bringing into action Pre-Collision Braking, Pre-Collision Brake Assist, Pre-Collision Throttle Management, Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Departure Warning, Vehicle Sway Warning and Lead Vehicle Start Alert. As well as other cars, Subaru Eyesight recognizes pedestrians, motorcyclists and bike riders.
As well as preventing collisions altogether, Subaru Eyesight at worst reduces the severity of impacts – and this means reduced repair costs.
The system was awarded a science and technology award from the Japanese Government.
