You’re quite probably not going to associate the Audi Q2 small crossover with the word ‘sporty’ or indeed any of its synonyms. Also probable is that the German automaker is aware of this and so has created the Edition #1 to lend some aesthetic flair.
Now, ‘Edition 1’ is a term used by Mercedes-Benz to denote an early batch of cars produced, and adding a hash isn’t likely to make Daimler suddenly forgive Audi for using a term they’ve coined. Either way, a more visually exciting Q2 is something worth having, so let’s get into that.
The Q2 Edition #1 brings a unique metallic colour to the small high-rider called ‘Quantum Grey’. Body colour aside, Audi has also given it accents in either gloss black or Manhattan grey such as for the sizable C-pillar, perimeter cladding, wheel arches, and side mirror housing.
Each Q2 Edition #1 also gains the Audi S-Line trim package as standard which gives the car 19-inch wheels finished in a two-tone antracite black finish as well as more aggressive body work - side sills, rear diffuser and bumpers. The LED tail lights now have dynamic turn indicators, too.
Inside, the Q2 is given some extra luxury appointments from the Audi design selection. The leather package is now standard, so is the leather sports steering wheel, height adjustable sports seats, aluminium cabin accents, and a titanium gray headlining. There is an illuminated door sill trim and ambient interior light package now included, adjustable from the MMI infotainment interface.
Customers can choose from any of the engine variants on offer for the standard Q2. Audi will be opening orders on the Q2 Edition #1 starting in September for the UK market but will likely be opening the doors for other markets to receive the special debut batch of the Q2s.
