Showing the fruits of owners Fiat, Chrysler UK has added two new models to its UK lineup –n the Ypsilon compact and Delta small car.
At 3.9-metres in length, Chrysler says the Ypsilon five-door is a tad shorter than rivals – making it ideal for central London and small British villages. Power comes from Fiat’s fuel-sipping 0.9-litre turbocharged ‘Twin-Air’. A 1.2-litre petrol engine and 1.3-litre turbo-diesel are also available.
Chrysler Ypsilon will be sold in three model grades – S, SE and Limited – with multiple customer individualization options.
Automated ‘Magic Parking’ makes city living very convenient in the Chrysler Ypsilon.
Moving upscale, Chrysler says its C Segment five-door hatchback Delta provides family car space in a hatchback body. The Chrysler Delta is also comprehensively equipped for sales success in Britain’s executive car market with impressive additions such as ‘Magic Parking’ and ‘Lane Departure Warning’.
Power comes from 1.6-litre and 2.0-litre diesels as well as two 1.4-litre petrol engines (the range-topper with around 102kW on-tap).
With an overall length of 4520mm, but a wheelbase of 2700mm, the Chrysler Delta is one of the larger C Segment vehicles and the company says interior space rivals many D or E Segment models. The rear seat slides and reclines for extra passenger comfort and when fully folded, the Chrysler Delta delivers a staggering 1190-litres of cargo space.
Interior appointments are impressively luxurious.
“Through the launch of Ypsilon and Delta we now have a range that encompasses both the small and medium passenger car markets with vehicles that are notably well designed, ensuring that they really are credible alternatives to the mainstream. They are equipped with all the features you would expect from a large Chrysler, integrated with stylish European designed interiors,” revealed Chrysler’s Nigel Land.
