Low-resolution photos tease what might be a real-life production car.
Despite report after report of cashflow issues and allegations of being broke, Faraday Future seems full-steam ahead for the reveal of its first production car, a practical family SUV that targets the Tesla Model X unashamedly.
With a coupe-like roofline and a bank of low-mounted batteries, Faraday’s upcoming SUV certainly looks promising, and seems intent on offering practicality with as little compromise as possible. No technical details have been released as yet, but we’re feeling confident that there will be more and more information coming to light soon as the EV newcomers prepare for their big CES reveal.
There’s a lot riding on the January electronics show for Faraday Future. With Nevada state officials calling Faraday’s CEO Jia Yueting “broke,” and work on their US$1bil factory at standstill, the CES unveiling of their SUV will be a sink-or-swim moment for the firm. CEO Jia has, in a letter obtained by Bloomberg, admitted to overextending the company’s financial abilities, and that they intend to rationalise their priorities (and their spending).
With issues mounting for the company, we’ll just have to wait and see if Faraday’s future looks bright, or bleak.
