Ford’s all-new Everest SUV will be unveiled at the Beijing Motor Show next week and so these teaser images have been released.
The Everest is based on the Australian-designed and engineered platform used for the Ranger ute and will compete with vehicles like the Holden Colorado and Isuzu MU-X in the hard-working end of the SUV market.
Ford says the Everest is the culmination of five years work by its Melbourne-based team working in co-operation with colleagues in Asia-Pacific.
“This is our vision of a large, seven-seat off-road vehicle that exemplifies how Ford’s ‘One Ford’ vehicle philosophy can apply for a vehicle created for Asia Pacific,” explained Todd Willing, director of Ford Design Centre in Melbourne. “The Everest is also proof of the world-class design expertise here in Melbourne. Many of the talented team who worked on Everest – and continue to work on other Ford vehicles – have been educated right here in Victoria.”
