SUV and mid-sized sedan buyers now have an extra reason to consider Kia with news Platinum grade models of the Sportage, Sorento and Optima now come standard with satellite navigation (optional on SLi grade Sorento and Sportage)
In the Kia way, it’s not just a hum-drum sat nav system – Kia has teamed with another Korean giant, LG, to equip its cars with an advanced touch-screen system which has been under development for 12 months.
Kia Sportage and Optima score a colour seven-inch screen while Sorento gets a 6.5-inch version.
Included are live traffic updates from SUNA and Navteq mapping. And, in an Australian first, the system comes with Mapcare map updates free of charge – the updates delivered at the first and second anniversary of purchase.
It’s fully integrated with MP3 music streaming and Bluetooth phone connection plus the large-screen display of the reversing camera image.
Look for the satellite navigation equipped Kia Sorento and Sportage in Kia dealerships from this month while the similarly equipped Optima models will arrive later this year.
Inclusion of the satellite navigation system sees Kia Sportage petrol rise to $37,710, Kia Sportage diesel to $40,710 and Kia Sorento to $50,180, while Optima remains at $37,980. Choose the satellite navigation system as an option on SLi Sorento and Sportage and you’re up for an extra $1500.
