I love my car...this is the third Xtrail I have purchased. My first model was with the speedo in the middle of the front console. Then upgraded to the newer model when i reached 95000 which was around 2007.
Last year I upgraded again to the new diesel model. I can fit so much in my car, the kids and the gear in the back, only would like a bit more back leg room for the back passengers but apart from that, the drive is smooth and I go both off and on road. Handles the bumps well and really economical.
My first model only got 550km to a tank - petrol engine. Second model was also petrol but gained another 100kms per tank. Now with my diesel, I get anywhere from 800 km upwards before I have to fill up. The seats are comfortable, it tows well and the driving lights assist in the country to avoid wild life.
I drive my xtrail everywhere and in comparison to other models, I wouldn't own any thing else. For the price and the features, no other competitor comes close for affordability and pricing in conjunction with the features my xtrail has. Hands free blue tooth for phone connectivity, stereo controls and cruise control (avoids speeding fines) all on the steering wheel at the touch of a button.
I opted for the 6 stack CD player rather then the navigational device and as the newer models come out, more features are added. Most other competor cars in the relevant SUV range are either 2WD or AWD.
The xtrail has now more models to choose from both 2WD and the original 4WD range. All my xtrails have been 4WD's which at the touch of a button you can change the 2WD selection and then 4WD and then to 4WD with locking. Most importantly the high descent feature assists with steep descents especially off road so you don't have to ride the brake but also aids in hill starting the car without using the hand break, love that. I love my car....can't say anymore that that.
