Nissan has launched a revised lineup for its top-selling X-TRAIL compact SUV with prices down across most models by as much as $1,750. Entry to the X-TRAIL lineup is now just $31,990 for the petrol ST manual ($1,000 less) while the entry-level diesel variant – TS manual – reduced by $1,750 to $35,990.
Externally, all new Nissan X-TRAIL models are distinguished by new front and rear bumpers, a new front grille and headlights and new overfender flares. The changes make the new X-TRAIL 10mm wider and longer.
Inside, the steering column gets telescopic reach adjustment, there’s a heated/cooled glovebox, new seat material, brighter silver trim and an upgraded audio system with steering wheel controls for the Bluetooth mobile telephone connection.
Mechanical improvements for the 125kW/226Nm, 2.5-litre, four-cylinder petrol engine (now Euro IV compliant) and an aerodynamic underbody cladding have reduced fuel consumption to 9.1l/100kms. Automatic transmission models also score an upgraded Advanced Hill Descent Control system.
There are also new wheel and tyre combinations.
Nissan has discontinued the manual transmission versions of the X-TRAIL petrol ST-L and Ti models.
