At Holden's plant in Elizabeth, South Australia, production of the Cruze hatchback has kicked off.
Holden says the new addition to the Cruze range will be on sale sometime next month with specifications and pricing mirroring its sedan siblings.
“When customers get behind the wheel next month we think they'll feel the suspension changes we've made which improve steering response, ride quality and add a sense of refinement to the overall driving experience. We clocked a further 140,000 km testing the new Cruze hatch on local roads which helped us deliver a number of enhancements to the hatch which will also apply to the model year 2012 cruise sedan,” Cruze engineering manager Peter Siablis.
Addition of the cruise hatchback now means Holden is building 51 models at its Elizabeth, South Australia plant - a credit to the flexible talents of Holden's Australian team.
