No, not the production car, but the show car used to preview the all-new Chevrolet Adra was produced in Port Melbourne by Holden.
The Adra is in fact the first car conceived, designed and developed by GMTC-I (General Motors Technical Centre India) for the local market. But Holden is one of only two GM design centres capable of fabricating a full-on car for motor show display.
“Holden’s design capabilities are recognised worldwide,” explained Australia Michael Simcoe, GM’s executive director of styling. “They have a reputation for being a mature and highly experienced design centre with incredible scope including creative design, clay modelling, animation, colour and trim fabrication.”
The Holden-made Adra is currently on display at the New Delhi Auto Show.”
