As the 2014 Endurance Racing Season kicks-off with this weekend’s Sandown 500, Holden has aced Ford, Nissan and Volvo by announcing a special edition Craig Lowndes version of the VF Commodore.
To be hand-finished and individually numbers at the Holden Enhancement Centre at the Adelaide plant, the Craig Lowndes Special Edition Holden Commodore will be launched next month when full technical details and prices will be revealed.
At this stage, all we know is the Craig Lowndes Special Edition model is based on the SS V Redline Commodore.
Buyers of each car will receive a private tour of Red Bull Racing hosted by Lowndes, two tickets to their local round of the V8 Supercar series and a Red Bull Racing pit tour plus a frame certificated of authenticity and build plate for their car.
It’s 20 years this month since Lowndes made his V8 Supercar debut in a Holden Commodore and although he has raced Fords (and Audis) as well, most of his success has been behind the wheel of a GM product.
Holden dealers nationally are now taking pre-orders for the Craig Lowndes Special Edition Commodore.
