Not before time, the Federal Government has approved ISOFIX child safety seats for Australia and Holden has been quick to confirm its entire product range is ISOFIX compliant.
In fact, the current VF Commodore has three ISOFIX anchorage points in the rear seat.
For Aussie families the ridiculously tedious and extended Government process to approve ISOFIX child safety seats finally brings us on-par with Europe and North America (with so much data freely available from those markets, why did we take so long?).
ISOFIX (used in Europe for 16 years and in North America for 11 years) is a simple method of fixing specialized child seats into vehicles more quickly and securely while also significantly reducing the risk of incorrect seat fitment.
With the benefits so obvious and readily available from the Northern hemisphere you really have to wonder why ISOFIX approval took so long…folks in Canberra sitting on their hands we’d suggest.
