2011 Skoda Octavia Range Revised

Skoda, Volkswagen group’s Czech Republic brand, has revised its Octavia model lineup with the 2011 range now starting at $24,990 for the new 90TSI Liftback and $26,990 for the 90TSI Wagon.

Driving through either a six-speed manual transmission, or an optional seven-speed DSG automatic, the 90TSI is a new 1.4-litre petrol engine, replacing the previous 1.6-litre unit, and delivering 90kW/200Nm. Skoda Octavia’s second petrol engine remains the turbocharged 118TSI with 118kW/250Nm and also driving through the six-speed manual or seven-speed DSG.

The entry level diesel powerplant becomes the 77TDI with 77kW/250Nm, while the 2.0-litre 103TDI has swapped to a common rail direct injection unit with output unchanged at 103kW/320Nm.

Skoda Octavia’s range-topping, sporty RS model retains its turbocharged 2.0-litre petrol engine (147kW/280Nm) or 2.0-litre turbo-diesel (125kW/350Nm). For 2011, the petrol engine has been recalibrated to run on 95 RON unleaded.

The 2011 Skoda Octavia RS gains the latest version of the Electronic Stability Program (ESP) with an extended Electronic Differential Lock (XDL).

Octavia RS is priced from $37,490 (Liftback) and $39,490 (Wagon).

Other changes for 2011 include a new satellite navigation system with a 30GB hard disk and voice control.
