At next month’s Geneva Motor Show, Ferrari will roll-out an enhanced California with more performance and sharper handling.

With revised engine mapping and exhaust manifolds, Ferrari California’s 4.3-litre direct injection V8 now provides a lip-smacking 366kW of power and 505Nm or torque. Ferrari says the toque curve is now higher across the rev range.

The 2+2 seat, folding hard-top Ferrari California now delivers zero to 100km/h in just 3.8 seconds.

And part of the story is also reduced weight. Ferrari has shaved 30kgs from the California thanks to improved construction and aluminium fabrication.

Also new for the Ferrari California is a high performance ‘Handling Speciale’ package for sharper ride/handling. Featuring Magnetorheological dampers with Ferrari software for the ECU, these complex new dampers provide a 50 per cent faster response time.

Combine the complex new damper technology with stiffer springs and a 10 per cent faster steering ratio and the result is a new Ferrari California which corners flatter and is even more responsive to driver input.

Looks have been boosted too. Ferrari says there are new colours available (including two-tone), finished in three-layer technology and increased customization options for customers.

The updated Ferrari California will arrive in Australia later this year and like all Ferrari's sold in Australia it will come with the worry free seven-year standard maintenance program, .
