Mercedes-Benz has extended the range of its all-new SLK roadster model with the launch of two very sharply priced new models – SLK 250 Blue EFFICIENCY and range-topping SLK 55 AMG.

Remarkably, the AMG-boosted, all-new Mercedes-Benz SLK 55 AMG is stickered at $155,000 – that’s $24,360 under the retail price of the less powerful superseded model.

Of course the latest ‘Benz SLK 55 AMG scores the new AMG M152 E55 naturally-aspirated V8 engine, delivering 310kW/540Nm and combined cycle fuel consumption 30 per cent down on its predecessor at 8.5l/100kms. And with exhaust C02 emissions rated at 197g/km, Mercedes’ says the latest SLK 55 AMG is the lowest emission V8 roadster money can buy in Australia.

The new Mercedes-Benz SLK 250 BlueEFFICIENCY replaces the SLK 300 AMG Sport Package and undercuts the old model’s price by $9,325 with a retail price of $91,900 (that also $640 under the previous SLK 200.

In terms of specification, over the SLK 200 BlueEFFICIENCY, amongst the extras included in the SLK 250 BlueEFFICIENCY are 17-incha alloy wheels, steering wheel paddle shifters and a memory package for the seats, steering wheel and exterior mirrors.

Under the bonnet, the Mercedes’ SLK250 BlueEFFICIENCY provides 150kW/310Nm. Importantly, with combined cycle fuel consumption of 7.0l/100kms and exhaust C02 emissions rated at 163g/km, the all-new ‘Benz SLK250 Blue EFFICIENCY delivers some Luxury Car Tax advantage.
