The all-new Porsche Boxster goes on-sale in Europe in a couple of months and is due in Australia later this year. Porsche Boxster will again be available in two models – Boxster and Boxster S.

Porsche’s all-new open-top features a new look, lighter weight, new direct injection engines and an improved chassis.

Styling delivers a more aggressive look with the latest Boxster featuring shorter front and rear overhangs, a flatter silhouette and extra curves around the flanks. A forward shift of the raked windscreen provides a more balanced look for the sporty two-seater.

Porsche Boxster rides on 18-inch alloy wheels while the Boxster S gains 19-inch alloys.

The folding roof is a new design with electric operation and unlike the current Porsche Boxster the roof folds into the rear shelf with no hard cover.

Inside, Porsche says the new Boxster gains the extra interior space and updated design seen in the latest 911 coupe – including the all-new centre console which came from the Carrera GT.

Standard Porsche Boxsters feature an alcantara interior trim, auto start/stop for enhanced fuel consumption and a CD?Mp3 audio system with seven-inch colour touch screen. Boxster S gains interior leather and B-Xenon headlights.

Power comes from the new-generation flat-six engines now with direct injection. Porsche Boxster gains extra performance with its 2.7-litre engine (based on the larger 3.4-litre) delivering 195kW, while the Boxster S is also more powerful – the 3.4-litre engine delivering 232kW. Porsche says fuel consumption is improved by up to 15 per cent.
