The 2012 lineup of Volvo S40 sedans and V50 wagons has been boosted by extra features across the range and the introduction of a new ‘Lifestyle’ variant. And the good news is prices are down – by as much as $3,960 for R-Design models.
All models gain rear park assist, retractable external mirrors, auto-dimming internal rear-view mirrors and upgraded audio with Bluetooth streaming.
The ‘Lifestyle’ version adds leather upholstery, 17-inch alloy wheels, electric adjustment for the drivers’ seat, rain-sensing wipers and Active bending headlights with washers.
A new colour has been added – ‘Caspian Blue’ – and 2012 models can be indentified externally by body-colour bumpers and wheel arches.
No changes under the bonnet – the Volvo S40 and V50 both powered by Volvo’s potent 2.5-litre, turbocharged five-cylinder petrol engine delivering 169kW/320Nm. Drive is via Volvo’s five-speed Geartronic automatic transmission.
