An extra $3,500 worth of standard kit makes Audi’s 2014 model year Q5 even better value.
Amongst the upgrades, 2.0 TDI and 2.0 TFSI models gain Xenon headlights and three-zone climate-control air-conditioning while 3.0 TDI and 3.0 TFSI versions score 19-inch alloy wheels and extended paintwork which colours the lower bumper sections front and rear and lower side sills.
Some mechanical improvements under the bonnet too with the 165kW/350Nm 2.0 TFSI engine now compliant with Euro6 emissions regulations and good for combined cycle fuel consumption of 7.9l/100kms.
Audi has also fitted new-design, larger paddle shifters for manual gear-changes.
And there’s some additions to the options list: DAB+ radio ($800), Aluminium/Beaufort Black Audi Exclusive inlay (black-dyed wood and aluminium) ($2,500).
The Audi Q5 is a Car Showroom favourite mid-size SUV and is currently the number one best-seller in its segment. Of course the rip-snorting SQ5 is in the top-five best cars we’ve driven in 2013.
