2015 Chrysler 300 – New Looks, Eight-Speed Auto, More Refinement, Better Fuel Consumption

Chrysler wheeled-out the updated 2015 300 range at the Los Angeles Auto Show and with its new styling it’s certainly the best-looking 300 so far.

CHRYSLER 300

Headline act goes to a new range-topping model which will keenly anticipated by Australian limousine and airport transfer drivers – the 300C ‘Platinum’ with quilted Nappa leather seats, 20-inhc alloy wheels, hand-sanded timber trim highlights, a Poltrona Frau leather-wrapped instrument panel and – of course – some extra chrome. There’s a new two-tone Indigo/Linen interior inspired by La Jolla, California (one of your Car Showroom correspondent’s favourite places!)

But the changes are more than skin-deep with the latest Chrysler 300 gaining adding the eight-speed automatic as standard across the range.

As well, Chrysler says the 5.7-litre Hemi V8 engine (270kQW/534Nm) is six per-cent more fuel efficient and the 3.6-litre Pentastar V6 will be offered in two versions – 224kW/358Nm or 218kW/353Nm.

Underneath there’s a new electric power steering system and weight-saving cast aluminium axles and housing.

Production of the updated Chrysler 300 is now underway at the Chrysler plant in Ontario, Canada but as yet there’s no word from Chrysler Australia on local details.
