The next component in Holden’s European-sourced passenger car lineup arrives next month and it’s a typical German high-performance sedan with a turbocharged V6 engine and all-wheel-drive.
It’s the Opel (this time re-badged as Holden) Insignia sedan, imported from Germany as a VXR model.
The 239kW/435Nm 2.8-litre V6 petrol engine drives all four wheels via a six-speed automatic transmission. In the current way, the AWD system has a sporty rear bias.
Coming from Opel, technology is impressive, debuting for Holden Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Change Alert and Auto Emergency Braking.
Styling looks good – highlighted by the 20-inch alloy wheels – and inside are leather seats with the fronts heated Recaro sports buckets.
Satellite navigation headlines an impressive list of standard kit.
Holden Insignia VXR is listed at $51,990.
