This is the good-looking all-new Hyundai Tucson which is heading to Australia for a launch date sometime in the winter – to replace the ix35.
As well as the 2.0-litre petrol and turbo-diesel engines, the all-new Hyundai Tucson will also be available with a 130kW turbocharged 1.6-litre powerplant (replacing the current 2.4-litre petrol engine) driving through a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission.
Hyundai Australia says all Tucsons will feature a reversing camera and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto will be available.
Styling from the renowned German Peter Schreyer looks great – a bold and athletic look to replace the current quirky-looking ix35 (which is actually Hyundai Australia’s second best-selling model).
The front sees Hyundai’s latest hexagonal grille and stylish LED headlights and DRLs.
We like the set-back A-pillar/long bonnet, the aggressively-shaped glasshouse, bold wheel-arches and ‘Z’-shaped character line above the rears.
Inside we’re told the all-new platform used for the Tucson has enabled Hyundai to deliver much more space (513-litres with all seats in-use) and a focus on European customers sees much better quality materials – there’s even a ‘Wine Red’ leather option.
On the technology front, the list includes three-mode Autonomous Emergency Braking, Lane Keeping Assist and Blind-Spot Detection.
While exact Australian specifications are still being finalised, the all-new Hyundai Tucson will debut next month at the Geneva Motor Show.
