Fresh looks, extra tech, a revised lineup and better value are the highlights of Nissan’s updated 2016 Micra compact hatchback range about to hit local showrooms.
Nissan has revised the range – down from five models to three – with the range-topping Micra Ti automatic now stickered at $16,990 ($2,000 ,less than the equivalent model in the outgoing lineup).
Styling sees a new front-end (bonnet, guards and Nissan’s ‘V-Motion’ grille plus new-design wheels.
Inside the updates include new seat trim, centre cluster and instruments.
Cruise control is standard across the lineup and the range-topping Nissan Micra Ti scores a touchscreen, satellite navigation, reversing camera, upgraded interior trim, LED rear lights, 15-inch alloy wheels, rear spoiler and fog-lights.
No mechanical changes with the Nissan Micra powered by the 56kW/100Nm 1.2-litre, three-cylinder engine driving through either a five-speed manual transmission or a four-speed automatic.
Despite some fancy newcomers in the segment, the British-origin Nissan Micra remains a Car Showroom Favourite compact hatchback.
