The updated Peugeot 2008 will roll into local showrooms late this year and the big news is under the bonnet.
Peugeot’s all-new ‘Pure Tech 3’ turbocharged 1.2-litre three-cylinder petrol engines feature.
The entry-grade 62kW version is unlikely to appear in Australia, but we’re confident Peugeot will offer the updated 2008 with both the 83kW/205Nm and the 98kW/230Nm versions – driving through either a five-speed manual or six-speed automatic.
Diesel power will come from a choice of the 1.6-litre BlueHDi engine with either 56kW or 75kW on-tap.
On the styling front, look for new wheel arch flares, a new vertical front grille and new scuff plates.
Inside the updated Peugeot 2008 scores ‘Mirror Screen’ technology which allows linking ‘MirrorLink’ or Apple CarPlay compatible smartphone to the touch screen.
Full Australian specifications and prices are currently under development.
