Now you can embarrass your neighbour and his SRT.
The 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk, the most powerful Grand Cherokee ever made, has been confirmed for the Australian market following a statement from the marque’s local office. It’s slated for a December debut, after which it is expected to humiliate anyone with a ‘lesser’ SRT.
Jeep Australia CEO said that “barely a day goes by” that he isn’t asked about the Trackhawk’s arrival Down Under. “Now, I can confirm it,” he claimed proudly. “The Grand Cherokee Trackhawk will become the flagship model of the Performance end of the Grand Cherokee range. It should have no trouble finding homes, given Australia’s love for V8s.”
Powered by a mammoth 6.2-litre supercharged V8, the Grand Cherokee Trackhawk produces a whopping 527kW & 874Nm, which is able to launch this full-sized SUV from rest to 100km/h in just 3.6-seconds, before eventually hurtling towards the horizon at 290km/h. Specifications released during the Trackhawk’s US debut included an upgraded eight-speed automatic, a retooled Quadra-Trac on-demand drive system with an electronic limited-slip differential at the rear, 25mm lower ride height, and launch control.
The Trackhawk also packs impressive tech, like LED daytime running lights, a 7.0-inch drivers’ display, an 8.4-inch Uconnect infotainment system (with smartphone mirroring), and heated pews all round. The Grand Cherokee Trackhawk rides on 20-inch light alloy wheels with a Titanium finish, wrapped in Scorpion Verde all-season tyres.
