More power, more torque, more fun.

2018 Porsche 718 GTS

The 2018 Porsche 718 GTS duo have been detailed ahead of its arrival in Australia, with the pair set to debut on our soil in March next year with prices starting from $173,100 (before ORCs). These mid-engined sports cars promise endless fun and proper thrills, and the numbers certainly cement that appeal.

The GTS badge means there’s more power, with an 11kW and 10Nm step up over the 718S. As such, the 718 GTS produces a healthy 269kW and 430Nm from its 2.5-litre turbocharged flat-four engine. While the 718GTS will be available with Porsche’s PDK double-clutch gearbox (for a substantial $5980 premium), the standard transmission will be a six-speed manual, which will certainly see enthusiasts grinning in delight.

Equipped with the PDK auto, the 718GTS is capable of hitting 100km/h from rest in just 4.1-seconds, before continuing to a top-speed of 290km/h.

As with any sports car, the 718 GTS has to also excel as a poser-mobile, and the GTS models certainly deliver in that regard. Over the 718 S, the GTS models get a Sport Design front bumper, along with dark themed bits and bobs all over the place, like smoked headlights and taillights, black badges, black accents, and a set of black exhaust pipes for maximum curbside appeal.

The cabin is equally well appointed too, with power-adjustable sports seats trimmed in Alcantara, which is also used on the steering wheel, door cards, and centre console. There are lots of goodies under the skin as well, like the Sports Chromo Pack, rear diff-lock, and Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) which allows the full potency of the 718’s chassis to be unlocked, and also lowers the ride height by 10mm.

Order books for the 718 Boxster GTS and 718 Cayman GTS are open now, though first deliveries are only expected to take place in March of next year. In the meantime, enjoy the gallery below, which we’re sure will egg you to go put a booking down at your local dealership.
