Audi Australia has announced the updated A5 Sportback and Coupe for the 2020 model year, adding more zest to an already well-rounded offering that, unfortunately, has not been enough to sway local buyers to its fold.
Despite the addition to the more than $9,000 worth of safety, assistance tech, technology, and convenience tech now made standard, Audi has revised the entire family of 45 TFSI quattro in Sportback, Coupe, and Cabriolet body styles for keener pricing, now starting at $78,900.
These include Active Lane Assist, High Beam Assist, Adaptive Cruise Control with Traffic Jam Assist, and a 360-degree camera system. In addition, the range-topper also adds the S line package with 19-inch alloys, wireless smartphone charging, and heated front seats with memory function.
Power comes from a 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol four-cylinder that delivers 185kW and 340Nm that’s mated to Audi’s 7-speed S tronic dual-clutch transmission before spreading drive to all four wheels.
“The stunning A5 is an Audi design icon that perfectly fits the brief of a contemporary sports coupe,” says Shawn Ticehurst, Product Planning and Pricing Director at Audi Australia.
“On the other hand, the five-door Audi Sportback concept offers similarly distinct styling, sporty performance and a uniquely versatile body concept, luring buyers that might have traditionally looked at a sedan instead.”
“With this new pricing and significant additional equipment, the A5 45 TFSI quattro models are an even more compelling package that shine conspicuously in what is a very aspirational segment.”
