Ford Australia has just put out the pricing and specifications for their 2020 offering of the Focus in both hatch and wagon body styles. The Focus will still be available in Trend, ST-Line, Active and Titanium trim levels, priced from $25,990.
The 2020 Ford Focus retains its standard kit and entry-level pricing as before, but gets dearer as you start climbing up the trim level ladder. What does this mean exactly? All trim levels above the Trend variant will experience a $500 price hike over their 2019 sticker price. Otherwise, the rest remain unaffected for 2020. Head over to Carshowroom and check out the best deal on the Ford Focus.
All variants across the model line-up will come with a touchscreen infotainment display measuring 8-inches across and features tech such as digital radio (DAB+), satellite navigation and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone mirroring, all as standard.
On the exterior, things remain largely unchanged. The entry-level Trend variant gets 16-inch alloy wheels wrapped in rubbers measuring 205/50, while the ST-Line rides on 17-inch alloy wheels with 215/55 tyres. As before, the range-topping Titanium variant sits on 18-inch Active Unique wheels shod with rubber measuring 215/50 on all corners.
In terms of technology, all variants of the 2020 Ford Focus will receive Autonomous Emergency Braking with Cyclist and Pedestrian Detection (AEB), Lane Keeping Aid with Lane Departure Warning, Emergency Brake Assist, Forward Collision Warning, Hill Start Assist and rear parking sensors, as standard.
Ford Australia is also offering up the Focus with a bunch of optional extras as well. First up is the Drivers Assistance Pack – standard on the range topper – which costs $1,250 for lower trim levels. The Titanium also gets Active Park Assist as standard. Further, for $300, the same variant can be optioned with a HUD or heads-up display.
Spend $1,000 extra on your Focus ST-Line and you’ll get the Design Pack. This equips the variant with Adaptive LED headlights, automatic high beam, 18-inch wheels and Titanium-level styling trim.
Furthermore, all variants of the Focus can be optioned with a panoramic sunroof, sadly that’ll cost you $2,000 more. Spend $650 more and you can have your Focus painted in a hue from the marque’s ‘Prestige Paint’ selection.
Finally, the bit that lives under the bonnet. All variants of the 2020 Ford Focus – sans the Focus ST – will be equipped with an EcoBoost 1.5-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine which outputs 134kW at 6,000rpm with a maximum torque output of 240Nm from 1,750 rpm. The engine is mated to an 8-speed torque converter unit which channels power to the front axle. The mill’s fuel consumption is rated at 6.4litres/100km while CO2 emissions are rated at 148g/km.
