The 50,000th VF model Holden Commodore – the best sedan ever made in Australia - has been manufactured at the Elizabeth, South Australia plant.
The ‘Nitrate Silver’ SV6 sedan is headed for a buyer at the Holden dealership in Lansvale, NSW.
It’s taken just 10 months for cumulative VF Commodore production to hit the milestone number.
Holden Commodore VF debuted a number of ‘firsts’ for the local industry including the use of aluminium panels (the VF runs an aluminium boot and bonnet – saving 10.4kgs compared to regular steel panels).
Of course the VF will be the last Commodore model – Holden’s ever-popular sedan debuted back in 1978 and here have been 15 model series in the +3.0 million sold since then.
