Chevrolet has confirmed a starting price of $US51,995 for the all-new version of the iconic American sports car the Corvette Stingray.
Add $US5,000 for the convertible model.
Powered by the latest version of Chevrolet’s 6.2-litre LT1 V8 petrol engine and driving the rera wheels via new seven-speed transmission with Active Rev Matching, the latest Corvette bristles with technology never before seen in ‘America’s Sports Car’ – such as a five-mode Drive Selector which can tailor up to 12 vehicle systems.
Tipping the scales 45kgs lighter than its predecessor but boasting a chassis which is 57 per-cent stiffer, the all-new Corvette Stingray runs a lightweight carbon-fibre bonnet and the convertible model uses a carbon fibre roof.
No plans for local sales via Holden but of course the usual private importers are already taking orders.
