Suzuki: picking up awards for their praised Grand Vitara
Suzuki’s competent Grand Vitara DDi turbo-diesel has backed-up for a second consecutive ‘gong’ from 4X4 Australia and Overlander 4WD magazines.
The Grand Vitara’s second compact SUV of the year awards from the two magazines is especially impressive when you consider it’s now a ‘Melbourne Cup’ quality field in that segment with vehicles like the Honda CR-V, Volkswagen Tiguan, Subaru Forester, Nissan X-Trail, Jeep Wrangler, Toyota RAV4 and Hyundai Tucson.
Both magazines praised the Grand Vitara for its well-sorted suspension which combines excellent off-road performance with sealed-road refinement. Fuel economy, safety and value-for-money were also acknowledged as Grand Vitara strong points.
Little wonder the Grand Vitara is actually one of very few models in any brand to show sales growth in 2009.
While the turbo-diesel 5-door Grand Vitara wagon is priced at $34,990, if your budget can’t stretch that far, entry to Grand Vitara range starts at $25,990 for the three-door 2.4-litre petrol model.
