Keep your eyes peeled and you might catch a glimpse of the all-new Holden Colorado ute between now and its mid-year launch. Holden already has some of the new models on the road for testing and promotional visits to local Holden dealers.
Big changes are on the way for the all-new Holden Colorado with the diesel-only engine lineup highlighted by all-new 132kW/470-440Nm 2.8-litre and 110kW/350Nm 2.5-litre DOHC turbo-diesels. The variable torque figure for the Holden Colorado 2.8-litre relates to the transmission – 470Nm for the six-speed automatic or 440Nm for the five-speed manual.
Holden says that 132kW/470Nm for the auto represents 10 per cent more power and 40 per cent more torque than the current Colorado 3.0-litre diesel.
The all-new Holden Colorado will be sold in three body styles – single cab, space cab and crew cab.
Good news for ‘tradies’, ‘boaties’ and ‘vanners’ with Holden saying the all-new Colorado retains the leaf-spring rear end and 2.8-litre models will provide a 3.5-tonne towing capacity while the 2.5-litre good for 3.0-tonnes.
All-new Holden Colorado comes equipped with driver and front passenger airbags and side curtain airbags, ESC and ABS.
Inside there are two auxiliary power outlets, a USB and aux-in port, Bluetooth connectivity and an iPod-compatible audio system.
Holden will reveal the full 2012 Colorado details and prices closer to launch.
