Exuding typical French charisma and handily priced from $19,990, Citroen’s all-new C3 small car is targeted to bring younger buyers to the brand.
Now on sale, the all-new Citroen C3 is comprehensively equipped and available in the model grades – VT, VTR+ and Exclusive. The entry-level VT model is powered by a 54kW/118Nm, 1.4-litre petrol engine while the two other grades offer a choice of 88kW/160Nm, 1.6-litre petrol or 66kW/215Nm turbo-diesel powerplants.
Drive is to the front wheels via a five speed manual transmission in the VT model. VTR+ and Exclusive models with the petrol engine drive through a four-speed automatic, while the diesel-powered versions are only available with a five-speed manual.
A key styling feature of the new Citroen C3 is its massive ‘Zenith’ windscreen. Measuring 1.35-metres from the bonnet to the roof, Citroen says the C3’s windscreen is 36 per cent larger than an average five-door hatchback.
It’s not just about good looks though – despite the compact dimensions (nine centimeters shorter than a Peugeot 207), the Citroen C3 delivers up to 300-litres of luggage space.
Inside is a nice combination of quality materials and chrome trim plus a scented air freshener in the air-conditioning system.
Safety is impressive with VTR+ and Exclusive models fitted with six airbags (the entry-level VT has four airbags, missing-out on the full-length curtain airbags) plus standard Electronic Stability Program (ESP).
The full Citroen C3 range is:
VT (petrol manual only) $19,990
VTR+ (petrol automatic) $23,490
VTR+ (diesel manual) $23,990
Exclusive (petrol automatic) $25,990
Exclusive (diesel manual) $26,490
