Holden showed its all-new full-size SUV – the Colorado 7 – for the first time at the Australian International Motor Show (Sydney). The newcomer goes on-sale in December.
Holden will offer the Colorado 7 – developed alongside the Colorado pickup – in entry-level LT and range-topping LTZ specifications. Amongst its extras, Holden Colorado 7 LTZ adds 18-inch alloy wheels, projector headlights, LED tail-lights, leather trim, eight-speaker audio and piano grey ghigh-gloss interior highlights.
The company says the seven-seater is a serious off-roader (as we’d expect after taking the pickup down some rugged tracks). But chassis configuration has been tuned to favour passengers – Holden Colorado 7 scoring a unique five-link rear end.
Power comes from the 132kW/470Nm 2.8-litre diesel driving through a six-speed automatic transmission. And with a 3,000kgs towing capacity, the Holden Colorado Seven should be a hit with weekend recreationalists and caravan-towers.
Inside, the Holden Colorado 7 looks good with modern ice blue LED illumination. Second row seats split-fold 60/40, third row seats split-fold 50/50 and even when all seats are in use, 235-litres of luggage space is available (1830-litres with all seats folded flat).
And, good news for those seated in the second and third rows with Holden Colorado 7 offering roof-mounted air-conditioning controls an four vents.
On the safety front, Holden Colorado 7 has scored the maximum five star rating from ANCAP and comes with items like full length curtain airbags which extend to the third row seats, ESC and a reversing camera.
