General Motors has taken the covers off the all-new Chevrolet Cruze in North America and one looks at the pics confirms it’s much easier on the eye than the current model Holden sells locally.
In fact we think it looks terrific.
At 2700mm in length and with an extra 15mm in the wheelbase, the North American Cruze offer 917mm of rear seat legroom – that’s substantially more than the model we see here.
GM North America has launched the Cruze with a new ‘EcoTec’ turbocharged 1.4-litre, four-cylinder petrol engine good for 115kW/240Nm and driving through either a six-speed manual or conventional six-speed automatic transmission. No word yet on other powerplants like a diesel for European markets.
And Cruze news from Holden? That would be ‘donuts’ at this stage (the current Cruze sold here is made in Elizabeth, South Australia).
