Honda has sharpened its pricing pencils for its all-new Jazz compact hatchback with the range kicking-off from just $14,990 – that’s $1,000 less than the outgoing model.
Styling is a big step-up and continues Honda’s product reinvigoration (CR-V, Odyssey and City) – highlighted by a distinctive front and rear and four-window sides with deep body panel sculpturing aft of the front fenders.
Power comes from Honda’s 1.5-litre i-VTEC petrol engine which delivers 88kW of power at 6600rpm and peak torque of 145Nm at 4500rpm.
The lineup will be boosted early next year with the launch of a hybrid version.
Entry-level VTi scores a manual transmission – an extra $2,000 gets the VTi with the CVT automatic which is standard in other models.
Inside, equipment levels are up – including a reversing camera and seven-inch touchscreen – with range-topping Honda Jazz VTi-L boasting leather seats (fronts heated).
The full lineup is:
VTi manual $14,990
VTi automatic $16,990
VTi-S automatic $19,790
VTi-L automatic $22,490
