Jaguar’s all-new XF also bows in New York and the British marque is planning a spectacular entrance – a drive across water suspended on twin 34mm high wires driven by British stuntman Jim Dowdell.
The current XF first appeared in 2007 and of course has set new sales records for Jaguar.
No pressure then for the all-new range.
If the high-flying XJ in New York does take a tumble at least it will punch a smaller hole in the ground as it tips the scales 80kgs lighter than the current model.
Jag says the ‘Jenny Craig’ treatment comes in part from an all-new aluminium architecture (the XF following the F-Type in being the second car to use the new technology.
Most of the details are under wraps – Jag saying only that the new model will set benchmarks for weight and efficiency.
