Boo Nissan! This extremely nicely-styled all-new Murano mid-size SUV was originally-in-but-now-it’s-out of Australian plans.
Seems Nissan North America will only build the Murano in left-hand-drive.
So the local lineup will remain Juke, Qashqai, X-Trail, Pathfinder, Patrol.
Resurgent Nissan – enjoying impressive sales growth this year – is focused on a simplified (make that models that actually sell) lineup under new CEO Richard Emery and while the Murano was loved by those who bought them, the fact is with five SUVs already on the books, when North America said Murano would become LHD only…well there were few tears at Nissan Australia’s Dandenong head office.
And that’s a shame because the all-new Murano looks a cracker – it styling largely a creation of Nissan Design International in La Jolla, just north of San Diego, California.
