We were out at Nissan’s Dandenong HQ a few weeks back and one of the all-new X-TRAILs was there for technical training – so we can assure you Nissan’s newcomer is a much better styling package than the current model.
Now comes news the all-new Nissan X-Trail (on-sale next month) will be priced from $27,990 – that’s around $500 less than kick-off prices for the current model.
Nissan has altered the model range for the all-new X-Trail.
The $27,990 entry-level ST is exclusively powered by a 106kW/200Nm 2.0-litre engine driving the front wheels via a six-speed manual transmission. All other ST grade models (front-drive or all-wheel-drive) and the range-topping Ti employ the 126kW/226Nm 2.5-litre engine and Xtronic CVT transmission.
Nissan says the diesel-powered all-new X-TRAIL will arrive ‘Downunder’ in the Spring.
For the first time, Nissan X-TRAIL is available with seven seats although curiously, only in front-wheel-drive ST and mid-grade ST-L specifications.
Range-topping Ti is only available in all-wheel-drive (Nissan’s excellent ‘All Mode 4x4i’ system).
All three model grades feature a rear-view camera, ‘Active Ride Control’, ‘Divide N Hide’ storage system (5 seat models), Nissan Connect connectivity, raised ‘theatre view’ seating and wide-opening rear doors.
ST-L and Ti models add ‘AroundView’ Monitor, satellite navigation, digital radio, leather seats and dual-zone climate control air. Range-topping Ti ups the ante with ‘Sensor Activated Tailgate’, ‘Blind Spot Warning’, ‘Moving Object Detection’ and ‘Lane Departure Warning’.
