The new Trafic represents a major focus on further LCV success – in fact Renault has shifted production of the van range to its Sandouville factory in France (previously the location of upscale passenger cars. The move comes after an expenditure of $352-million to upgrade the plant for Trafic production.

Under the bonnet, the all-new Renault Trafic will be offered with two versions of Renault’s 1.6 dCi turbo-diesel – one with a single turbocharger and a twin-turbo version. Adopting the 1.6-litre engine sees a drop in fuel consumption over the previous 2.0-litre powerplant of around 1.0l/100kms (less than 6.0l/100kms for the twin-turbo!).

The Renault Trafic offers a choice of two roof heights and two different lengths of delivery van, crew-cab, platform-cab and minibus.

Styling is all-new inside and out and sees the hallmark front-end gain the new, upright version of the Renault logo, wide, thin headlights and more slop for the windscreen for better visibility and aerodynamics.

Renault Australia will launch the all-new Trafic early next year.
