Aston Martin may be renewing their lineup of cars, but they haven’t ignored their customer racing cars. To that end, they’ve pulled the wraps off of the Vantage GT3 and GT4, both customer racing cars well ahead of homologation that’ll take place in March.

The GT3 is the more out there of the two, and gives us the clearest view yet of how aggro the Aston Martin Vantage can get. There’s major aerodynamic changes all round, though it’s the mechanical updates that are worth mentioning. There’s an updated 4.0-litre V8 mill up front, which puts out a maximum 400kW and 700Nm, with all that power going to the rear wheels through a six-speed Xtrac sequential gearbox.
With 1,245kg of weight, the GT3 packs more than just a lot more power. There’s also things like a steel roll cage, a set of Ohlins shocks all round, Alcon brakes, an ABS system from Bosch Motorsports. There’s no doubt that it’s one hell of a track machine.
The Vantage GT4 is the less-aggro of the two, given that GT4 cars are designed for amateur racers and the cars remain more in-keeping with the production models on which they’re based to keep costs lower. Aston didn’t detail the performance stats for the GT4, but it shouldn’t be as daunting as the stats on offer with the GT3.
With homologation set for next March, we’ve little doubt that the Vantage GT3 and GT4 will be worthy successors to the V12 Vantage GT3 and the GT4. Aston hopes that with the new cars, the GT3 and GT4 markets will continue to expand, particularly in the US and in Asia, on the back of these track-ready machines.
