You’ll need to move fast to secure the sporty ‘S Line Competition’ version of Audi’s superb A1 compact – only 200 have been secured for Australian sale.
And priced at a very sharp $35,500 they’ll move fast.
The S line exterior package has been available as standard in the A1 range-topper – the 136kW 1.4 TFSI Sport – but the limited edition S Line Competition is based on the 1.4 TFSI Attraction.
So you score the S Line exterior package plus 17-inch alloy wheels, front fog lights, LED tail-lights, a black exterior styling package, contrasting roof and roof arch colours, body colour air vents and the rear Audi Parking System.
Power comes from the 90kW/200Nm version of Audi’s turbocharged 1.4 TFSI four-cylinder petrol engine, driving through the seven-speed S tronic dual clutch transmission to give the A1 Sportback S Line Competition a zero to 100km/h time of 9.0 seconds. Combined cycle fuel consumption is listed at 5.3l/100kms.
Value is beyond question – just $2,500 more than the regular A1 TFSI Attraction but with extras which Audi says amount to more than $8,000.
