Audi A5 Sportback launched in Australia early next year.

These are the first official photos of the all-new Audi A5 Sportback which will not be launched in Australia until early next year.

Continuing the line of ‘glamour’ cars originating from Audi’s German styling studios under the direction of Wolfgang Egger, the A5 Sportback plans to combine the style and sophistication of a coupe with the versatility of a wagon.

And if the similar Passat CC from parent company Volkswagen is a reliable guide, you can expect the four-seat A5 Sportback to be spacious inside and sumptuously luxurious.

It will be practical too – Audi says luggage space is 480 litres with the rear seats in place and a large 980 litres with the rear seats folded.

In Europe, the diesel engine offerings are a 2.0-litre TDI with 125kW and 350Nm; a 2.7-litre TDI with 140kW/400nM and a 3.0-litre V6 TDI with 176kW and 500Nm. On the petolr front there is a 195kW 32.-litre V6 quattro or a 2.0-litre TFSI with 155kW and 350Nm

Audi Australia says the A5 Sportback will be launched with both TDI and FSI engines – but will not confirm which variants until closer to on-sale date.
