The title of the world’s best high-performance European four-door is under serious threat after the Detroit Motor Show with launch of the Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG followed by the stunning Audi RS 7 Sportback.
Good as the S7 is, Audi’s gloriously styled A7 Sportback has been crying-out for an RS version and the newcomer looks absolutely breathtaking, no doubt about it. There’s a massive front grille in honeycomb with large ‘Quattro’ lettering, revised bumpers and wheels in either 20-inch or 21-inch.
Sport-tuned suspension lowers the RS7 Sportback by 20mm – further contributing to its aggressive looks.
And under the bonnet is Audi’s RS-tune 411kW/700Nm twin-turbocharged 4.0-litre V8 petrol engine, driving through Audi’s Quattro all-wheel-drive system to provide zero to 100km/h in just 3.9 seconds.
Mark this one down under ‘D’ for ‘desirable’.
