Transforming from design house to automaker.
Italian firm Pininfarina has long enjoyed a very secure place in automotive history, for having been involved in the design (and sometimes the production) of some of the world’s most beautiful cars. But founder Battista Farina’s dream was to see the Pininfarina name on one of its own cars of its own making, and the PF0 is the realisation of that dream.
Ahead of its upcoming debut at Pebble Beach, Automobili Pininfarina is presenting images of the PF0’s futuristic cabin which, to our eyes, compliments the slippery & evocative exterior.

In the final stages of the design process, the Pininfarina PF0 is set to be an all-electric monster with an amazing amount of power. The company claims a 0-100km/h time of less than 2-seconds, and a top speed north of 400km/h. The body will be entirely carbon fibre and so it won’t hamper its progress getting to that mark, but we reckon its batteries, claimed to be able to power the far for as far as 480km on a single charge, will be a bit of an issue.

Just 150 of these cars will be made by hand in Cambiano, Italy by the ateliers of Pininfarina SpA, with production beginning in 2020. The shroud of secrecy surrounding the car will be lifted on the 23rd of August, with the Pebble Beach launch event set to be attended by parent company Mahindra & Mahindra boss, Anand Mahindra.
