BMW’s 2 Series is the latest model to add a high-roof Gran Tourer version with this extended capacity model launched in Europe.
Following the familiar footsteps of this concept, the BMW 2 Series Gran Tourer runs a fore-aft sliding rear bench seat which split-folds 40:20:40 and, when folded flat provides a massive cargo space of 1,905-litres.
Three child seats can be fitted on that second row seat and as an option you can order a third seating row.
BMW says the 2 Series Gran Tourer is the world’s only seven-seat premium compact vehicle.
Power comes from a choice of five turbocharged three and four-cylinder engines ranging from 85kW to 141kW in output.
As the name suggests, the 220d XDrive model brings all-wheel grip to the BMW 2 Series Gran Tourer range.
There’s the usual armada of BMW technical and infotainment goodies including, only in Germany, the ‘myKIDIO’ app which is operated via the iDrive Controller and enables rear seat youngsters to enjoy tremendous choice of content on their hooked-up tablets.
