BMW has drip-fed details of the all-new 3 Series lineup for some time, but now it’s here…well almost. Entry-level 318d and 320i models are a few weeks behind the rest.
Power comes from an all-new TwinPower Turbo range, highlighted by a new four-cylinder petrol engine in 328i and 320i. Drive is via BMW’s new eight-speed automatic transmission with fuel-saving Auto Start/Stop.
And in a specification change, the all-new BMW 3 Series provides three trim and specification levels – Sport Line, Modern Line and Luxury Line.
Compared to its predecessor, the all-new BMW 3 Series is slightly larger, weighs less, has more power and consumes less fuel…just about ticked all the boxes there then!
Styling is a swept back wedge shape - certainly more sleek and athletic than then out-going 3 Series – it’s also more aerodynamic (cd 0.26).
And on the inside is a fresh, all-new design highlighted by free-standing iDrive monitors (6.5-inch or 8.8-inch, depending on the model). Space is up, with rear seat passengers enjoying 15mm more knee room and 8 mm more headroom while boot capacity has grown to 480-litres.
The full range is:
318d $56,400
320i $57,600
320d $60,900
328i $66,900
335i $91,900
