BMW’s stylish X6 SUV has a new entry-level model – the xDrive30d priced at $109,900 – that’s $9,700 less than the first petrol model, the X6 xDrive35i.
BMW moved fast to get the X6 xDrive30d into the lineup with customers demanding diesel powerplants – in 2010, for the first time ever, BMW Australia sold more diesel-engined vehicles than petrol models.

Power for the BMW X6 xDrive30d comes from BMW’s superb 3.0-litre straight-six turbo-diesel, boasting third generation common rail high-pressure direct injection and delivering 180kW/540Nm. Drive is via BMW’s outstanding eight-speed automatic transmission.

The BMW xDrive30d accelerates from zero to 100km/h in 7.5 seconds and returns impressive combined cycle fuel consumption of 7.4l/100kms. That class-leading fuel consumption is aided by BMW EfficientDynamics features such as brake energy regeneration and low rolling resistance tyres.

Underneath, the BMW X6 xDrive30d features BMW’s Dynamic Performance Control which is responsible for the X6’s sporty driving dynamics.

Inside is the usual BMW luxury and technology including beautiful Nevada leather seats, automatic tailgate operation, Head-Up Display, Rear View Camera with Top View, satellite navigation and Park Distance Control.

New to the BMW X6 xDrive30d and now available across the X6 range is a five-seat option (previously the X6 was criticized for its four-seat-only configuration). Typically BMW, the five-seat version is cleverly incorporated into the X6’s luxury interior and the 60:40 split for extra luggage versatility remains.
