BMW’s next star, the 4 Series Coupe, has been revealed. Wider and longer than the outgoing 3 Series coupe, BMW’s newcomer looks elegant in the typical BMW coupe way – flowing roofline, long bonnet and set-back passenger cell.
And in a new development for BMW, the 4 Series Coupe debuts front fender air ‘breathers’ behind the front wheels – to reduce drag.
The 4 Series Coupe sits 500mm lower than the 3 Series Coupe it replaces and boasts the lowest centre of gravity of any current BMW model.
Inside, the BMW 4 Series Coupe uses contoured rear seats with recessed headrests to give the appearance of two individual seats.
As per current BMW lineups, the 4 Series Coupe is available in ‘Sport Line’, ‘Modern Line’, ‘Luxury Line’ and M Sport packages.
Under the bonnet, the all BMW TwinPower Technology lineup includes the six-cylinder 435i, four-cylinder 428i and four-cylinder diesel 420d. Drive is via a six-speed manual transmission or BMW’s excellent eight-speed automatic.
And of course the BMW 4 Series Coupe comes with all the expected BMW technology and infotainment systems.
BMW Australia has yet to announced local prices or model details.
