In a press release from Munich, German manufacturer BMW has released a raft of revisions for its 6-Series range of grand tourers for the new year, promising “striking exterior and interior flourishes which vividly showcase the sporting character” of the 6-Series lineup.
The 6-Series coupe, cabriolet, and Gran Coupe models will soldier on with the same power plants, those being a 235kW straight-6 3.0-litre, a 330kW 4.4-litre V8, and a 230kW six-cylinder turbodiesel. All of those engines employ an eight-speed Steptronic sport transmission, with the petrol models gaining a sorts exhaust system. And while rear-wheel drive is standard, X-Drive all-wheel drive is available as an option.
The 6-Series range also sees interior revisions, that are designed to create a more focused experience for drivers and passengers alike. Carbon Fibre interior trim is now available throughout the range (previously reserved for the M6), creating a “spine-tingling sports-car ambience” aside the cockpit. Standard are heated, “lightweight integral” seats for the two front passengers, Dakota leather trim, electrically-adjustable multifunction steering wheel (you didn’t expect to do it yourself, did you?), ConnectedDrive navigation package (WiFi hotspot and wireless charging as standard), high-fidelity audio system, LED headlights, and an alarm system, to ensure all that kit always remains yours.
Design Pure Experience and Design Pure Excellence equipment lines are also offered through the range, allowing for further personalisation of the 6-Series. If that isn’t enough, there’s the obligatory M-Sport package (now offering two-tone 20-inch lightweight alloy wheels), and there’s BMW Individual for the truly discerning customer. Thy sky is very nearly the limit in terms of individualisation opportunities here, guaranteeing a 6-Series for everyone.
